Prayer Profile:
Jerusalem and Nazareth, Passover and Easter–Israel offers diverse people, culture and landscapes. Biblical history permeates every place you go, from the shores of the Sea of Galilee to the Negev Desert.
Israel is a beautiful country with a great variety in landscape, people groups, and religions. It is a very interesting country, as it is often the center of world news. It is also the country where Jesus lived and where the Bible comes alive. Israel has a population of 6 million people, while only about 5,000 are Messianic Jews and about 3,000 are Evangelical Arabs.
It borders Lebanon and Syria to the north, Jordan to the east, and Egypt to the south. Modern Israel is a relatively young nation born in 1948. Since then, Israel has had steady growth in population.
Israel has a strategic location in the region, and this creates an intense and challenging environment.
Redemptive Purpose: The epicenter of God’s redemptive history–His Son and the breathing out of His Kingdom–is rooted and established in the land of Israel. The cross of Jesus changes everything.

Key Scripture to Pray: “This is the covenant I will make with the house of Israel after that time, declares the Lord. I will put my laws in their minds and write them on their hearts. I will be their God, and they will be my people. No longer will a man teach his neighbor, or a man his brother, saying, ‘Know the Lord,’ because they will all know me, from the least of them to the greatest. For I will forgive their wickedness and will remember their sins no more.” - Hebrews 8:10-12
Going Before the Father: Romans 11:11 talks about Israel. We need to be praying that salvation for the Gentiles will “make Israel envious,” envious to know and walk with the Lord of Lords, envious to receive God’s salvation.
Psalm 83 is a powerful picture of the nations right around Israel conspiring against Israel. You can see from the news on almost any day that this conspiring continues. Pray through Psalm 83.
Israel is diverse. It’s home to not only Jews, but Arabs, Muslim, Druze, and Bedouin, all of whom have faiths that deny Christ. “Let them know that you, whose name is the LORD—that you alone are the Most High over all the earth.” Psalm 83:18
