Prayer Profile:
The sites, sounds, and smells of Morocco are captivating. In large cities, you can see a donkey cart parked alongside a new BMW. Everywhere there is a mixture of ancient and modern, tradition and change. Brightly colored bazaars move to the rhythm of Arabic music and noisy shoppers. The call to prayer echoes over the bustle of the city and the quiet of the country.
Moroccans are experiencing many social advances since King Mohammed VI took the throne in 1999. A new mind-set has contributed to a dramatic growth in the technology industry. Other signs of development include the many disabled children who, once shunned and shut away, are seeing daylight and receiving therapy for the first time.
Young people make up a large percentage of the population, and it is important to focus on their generation. Despite the many changes taking place, the rates of poverty and illiteracy remain high.
Redemptive Outreach: The giving of Bibles, New Testaments, Jesus videos and other Christian materials is part of sowing the seed. Over the last number of years, many gifts have been given to people leaving southern Spain going to Morocco. More recently, this is taking place from one friend to another. Isaiah 55:11 says; “so is my word that goes out from my mouth: It will not return to me empty, but will accomplish what I desire and achieve the purpose for which I sent it.”

Key Scripture to Pray: Morocco, in Arabic, is known as the “Maghreb,” the place where the sun sets. From the rising of the sun to the place where it sets, the name of the LORD is to be praised. - Psalm 113:3
Going Before the Father: Pray that Moroccan children would be eager to know the Truth and would find Him. Pray they would reject the evil in society and embrace the good. Jesus said, “Let the little children come to me, and do not hinder them, for the kingdom of heaven belongs to such as these.” - Matthew 19:14
Pray for salvation, protection, and wisdom for King Mohammed VI and that he will continue to pursue the path of a good king. Pray for success in programs aimed at improving the quality of life for the poor. “Endow the king with your justice, O God, the royal son with your righteousness.” - Psalm 72:1
Pray for more scriptures to be available in country and for boldness for believers as they distribute literature, disciple and plant house churches.
